About the Lab
What We Are
Le French News Lab is an interdisciplinary research initiative dedicated to the systematic study, analysis, and understanding of the French news media ecosystem. Through rigorous methodological frameworks, transparent research practices, and innovative computational approaches, we aspire to become a leading academic resource for French media studies.
Our Approach
Our research combines quantitative computational methods with qualitative content analysis to provide a comprehensive understanding of media ecosystems. We emphasize methodological transparency, reproducibility, and interdisciplinary collaboration across media studies, computational social science, and political communication.
Why It Matters
Understanding media ecosystems is crucial for maintaining democratic discourse and informed citizenship. By providing transparent, evidence-based analysis of French news media, we empower citizens, journalists, researchers, and policymakers with the knowledge needed to navigate and improve the information landscape.
